The sun finally shone…
We were really lucky with the weather on our final 2 sessions this month at Carymoor Environmental Trust .Carymoor Environmental Trust .
Crazy crazy golf!
If you are wondering what to do this weekend why not try some indoor golf or golf football! Our work coaches like coming up with creative ways to give our trainees new experiences and our Mind and Body Work Coach is no different, his theme for the month is golf.
Painting bins.
Huge thanks to our friends at Glastonbury Festival for making it all happen. Last Friday, a group of our trainees were invited to the world famous festival site where they got the opportunity to clean some of the iconic festival bins and then created their own designs. They also they got to have a fabulous tour of the site.
A new partner.
After the success of our first football season we are already planning ahead to next season.
Well Done Hubsters
We are so proud of the Hub All Stars!!
In their first ever season in the third tier of Somerset FA Disability Counts League they finished the season as runners up!! Many of the team had never played in a football team before.
Thank you!
This morning’s thank yous goes to the wonderful customers and staff at the Co-op , Mudford Road, Yeovil. Their collection boxes raised £92.46 for our charity.
Closed Bank Holiday
It is Bank Holiday Monday tomorrow and so the Hub will be closed to its trainees and customers alike.
Hope you are having a fantastic long weekend and we will see you when we open again at 9.30am on Tuesday 7th May.
Please support…
What will you be doing this bank holiday? 🚲🚲🚲
We know what Hub Supporter Andy Jones will be doing, as he is now only 3 weeks away from his 248km cycle to Rennesse in Holland. Andy has already raised a staggering £1,200 for the Hub, but if you able to provide a donation this will spur Andy on even more during his training sessions and for the big event.
Work Experience
Massive thanks once again to Leonardo who provided a brilliant two day work experience for 6 of our trainees.
Return to Prodigal Bikes
This month saw a welcomed return to work with AJ at Prodigal Bikes. We really enjoy our sessions there, learning how to repair and refurbish bikes that get handed over to refugees either in the UK or Africa.
Our practice has paid off.
The Hub football team is on the up!! Passing, tackling and shooting has improved, fitness has improved, positional play and team spirit too!
Shout out…
Special shout out to Jake, Adam, Steve and Lee from AJM Electrical Services who are taking part in a 72 hole sponsored gold event on 28th June to raise money for the Hub. Plus massive thanks to Lucy Mead for organising the fundraiser.
Champions!
Massive congratulations to Yeovil Town FC for being champions of National League South and winning 3-1 on Saturday. Also huge thanks to YTFC for inviting a group of Hub trainees to attend the final home game of the season and to be able to witness a fabulous victory and all the celebrations!
